News about Sport:
Crazy Cricket Set
Do you play cricket? Well, for those living in North America, you might have heard of the sport (or thought that it was some sort of insect or a mobile carrier), but have you really tried to figure it all out? The Crazy Cricket Set might help get you started or perhaps pique your interest, and you get to enjoy a “starter kit” of sorts without having to fork out a handful of dough on unwieldy bats, balls, and stumps – since the £39.99 Crazy Cricket Set is more or less portable enough for you to enjoy virtually anywhere you desire.
MtEverClimb is an endless rope-climbing exercise
Ah, climbing the rope, doesn’t that just bring back memories of gym class? I remember that I just couldn’t climb that thing for a while, but I finally mastered it. Fortunately, I learned how to do it before I got to high school, not that we had a rope in high school.
Robocup Golf Ball Return Robot
You know what? If you love practicing your putting, then you had better be a good shot – otherwise you would end up spending more time retrieving those wayward golf balls instead of “celebrating” your successes. Of course, there is always the option of training a dog to let it do all the retrieving, but it doesn’t really help in a way since you will end up with dog slobber all over your balls.
TiGr Bike Lock
I have seen a lot of bike locks in the past, but most of them are pretty tricky when it comes to storing on the bicycle.
The TiGr is a titanium “bow” that its extremely flexible, and it has “lock claims flexibility, hack-proof strength, and a sexy design worthy of your ride”. It can stretch out to about five foot five inches, and then both ends lock together.
The Wave Jet – High Tech Hang Ten
Today was National “Take Your Child to Work” day, so here we sit, writing an article together. In actuality it was “Get your Stuff Done in Twice the Time it would Normally Take” day… but heres our spin on this thing anyway…
AvA 299 DROP Heliboarding concept
This is a concept copter that addresses an issue that I don’t really have. If you or someone that you know likes to go up to the summits of high mountains in order to ski or snowboard down, then this is probably the chopper you want to take to get there.
Rowbike lets you burn that fat off
The best time to start exercising is always now, so if you think that taking the old school route of swimming or jogging isn’t attractive enough for you (even with an iPod attached to your ears), then you might want to consider picking up the Rowbike.
G-1 Glass Pool Table
So you want to let the rest of the world know that you’ve arrived on the world stage, fat paycheck and all. How about making sure your pad stands out from the rest with the G-1 Glass Pool Table? As you can tell by its name, this pool table is going to wow and dazzle visitors to your home, and they need not rack up a set of balls on old school wood and slate – no sir, instead they will rack up on an ultra modern design that is built-to-order.
Skataz motorized skates
It seems like I have written on a lot of motorized skateboards and skates, and I suppose I might as well add to the mix with the Skataz.
Basketball Return Net
Love shooting hoops all day long? If you’re one who prepares early enough, then summer can’t come quickly enough for you to stay outdoors all day long, throwing your basketball into the hoop as you attempt to make that money shot. Of course, part of the satisfaction is seeing you make your shot, but what happens when you miss it (and by a mile, to boot)?
Mauer Batting Trainer
You know what they say – practice makes perfect, and this general rule applies across a wide spectrum of things in life, even more so when it comes to disciplines such as sport and music. Of course, the same holds for math, too, and if you want to apply statistics to sport, then the Mauer Batting Trainer does seem to be the perfect device to purchase as you prepare to sweat it out this summer.
This Bike Rack is also a Desk
For those who have an executive job and ride a bike to work, this is for you.
Let’s face it, bikes take up a lot of space when they are not in use. Parking them in the office is an option, if you or your boss don’t mind the eyesore. You could put a bike in a rack outdoors, where the bike can fall prey to thieves as well as elements like rain and sunshine.
Is this Pitching Helmet the future of baseball?
This is an idea by Easton-Bell for a pitcher helmet. I never heard of that before, but if the batters wear one, why not the pitcher?
Especially since the Gunnar Sandberg incident. Sandberg is a high school pitcher who got hit with a line drive and had to be put in a medically induced coma in order to stop the swelling in his brain. Sandberg is all for this helmet, which is made from expanded polystyrene.
Flexdex illuminated skateboards
These days, pretty much anything can be made to look cool with the application of some LED lighting. Of course, some might think that this tech is too “flashy”.
Jetpack and skis are going uphill fast
I haven’t been skiing in a long time, but if you’ve never been, it can often be twenty percent going downhill and eighty percent waiting or riding on a chairlift.
The Bubble Tree: The best way to enjoy the outdoors, indoors
I’ve always wanted to enjoy nature, but sometimes it can be too…natural.
I’m referring to times when I want to have a picnic under the stars, but it is way too cold at night. Or if I want to have a dinner on the beach, but I don’t want to have sand everywhere.
Is It a Scooter, a Bicycle, a Skateboard? No, It’s Sbyke !
So you feel like you’ve seen it all, there are bicycles, unicycles, skateboards and scooters, but nothing really new, nothing you could look at and say, cool, that looks like it could be fun.
Scalextric Velodrome Racing Set for Slot Car Bikes
I would imagine that a lot of you remember slot car racing. Normally, it is done with hot tricked-out race cars, but this is done with bicycles.

We’ve previously reported about budding sports here at Coolest Gadgets with Knokkers, a game that combines bowling with billiards.
Callaway upro mx heads for the greens

Are you an avid golfer who wish that you could spend much more time at the green instead of in the office? Chances are at that level of fanaticism, you will definitely subscribe to golf magazines that teach you how to improve on your game, and you will always be on the lookout for better devices in the market that can help you with your swing.
Introducing the Skizee, the Stand-up Snowmobile
What you are seeing here is the Skizee, and it is designed to do what skis cannot, carry you uphill. Yes, I still remember that first lesson of skiing back in grade school: skis go downhill, and you need a rope-tow or ski-lift if you want to go up.
Mix Bowling and Pool with the game of Knokkers (yeah, that’s what it’s called)
This is a game called Knokkers, and yes, I realize that sounds like a vulgar name for certain female body parts, but I want you to put that out of your mind.
Completely out of your mind. Now, put into your mind some very manly sports of bowling and pool. Knokkers is the combination of those sports, and you’re looking at it here.
Freestyle Swimmer’s Snorkel
When it comes to swimming, what’s your favorite stroke? For those who raised their hands when freestyle is called out, the Freestyle Swimmer’s Snorkel is just the item for your perusal. This snorkel basically allows the proper freestyle swimming stroke technique without having to take a breath to the side – definitely a way to “cheat” your way to a personal best. Of course, when it comes to the actual swimming event, you will still need to breathe some time or the other, so take this as a training tool as used by regular training programs by collegiate sports teams. It is attached to the wearer’s forehead with a strap, leaving more than enough space for swim goggles. This will help keep your head aligned with the spine while swimming, helping develop body balance, rotation, and alignment in the water durign the entire process so that a solid foundation can be laid for learning more advanced skills including bilateral breathing. $39.95 sounds like a bargain when it comes to being a training aid. The new Nike + SportWatch GPS at CES 2011
I saw this watch from shoe giant Nike last night at the CES 2011 event Pepcom. The Nike+SportsWatch GPS uses the Nike+ sensor based in the shoe for tracking time, pace, distance, calories burned as well as heart rate.
Swim faster with the Corsuit
What you are looking at is the Corsuit, and it is designed to increase speed in swimming.
Granted, I am not certain why you need speed in swimming, because certain swimming racing suits have been banned from international competitions. I think they were ruled as giving competitors an unfair advantage.
Mini Spring Rim Basketball Hoop
Love sports? Well, the Mini Spring Rim Basketball Hoop might be your cup of tea then, as this mini-basketball hoop will come complete with a 9-inch spring-loaded rim which encourages spectacular dunks. It is meant for office doors and cube walls, depending on which level of the pecking order you’re at. Not only that, in order to prevent cuts and additional insurance claims by your company, it will sport a clear, shatterproof backboard that measures 16-inches x 23-inches, alongside a white square target painted onto its surface for lay-ups and bankshots. As for the rear perimeter of the backboard, it will come with reinforced foam padding which protects doors. Each $49.95 purchase comes with a 5.5-inch diameter mini-basketball for you to get your dunk on. With twin hooks, they enable use over doors or cube walls. Minor assembly is required before you can break a sweat to let off some steam, especially during a particularly hard day at work. Read the rest of this entry »
visCycle – Go Green, Get Lean

In San Diego there’s a gym, that in and of itself is nothing unusual, I’m sure San Diego has a bunch of gyms… but theres a place in particular called the Greenasium that is using a special stationary bike called the visCycle.
Magnestick Safety System helps young skiiers
It has been a while since I have been skiing, but safety on the chair lift was important when I started skiing at a young age.
I remember being slightly scared of the chair-lift, which is completely understandable for someone under the age of 10. After all, you have to sit in a chair that is several feet above the ground. Many of the Beginner chairs have a safety bar, but there is now another way to lock youngsters into place.
Meet the robot bowler EARL
If they ever wanted to remake The Big Lebowski with robots, they would probably have to cast EARL in the film. I’m not certain if the bowling robot should be Jesus Quintana or The Dude.
Mini Spring Rim Basketball Hoop
You know how kids have their own fair share of dreams? While some of them idolize sports icons to the max, others prefer something brainier. The former will definitely love to have the Mini Spring Rim Basketball Hoop in their homes, where this mini-basketball hoop will sport a 9″ spring-loaded rim which encourages spectacular dunks. We don’t suppose that kids will be the only ones who would love having a go at it, as those in suits and ties will also find it run to let off some steam after being shouted at by the boss. Meant for office doors or cube walls as well, it comes with a clear, shatterproof 18″ x 24″ backboard and a white square target that has been painted onto its surface for lay-ups and bankshots. As for its rear perimeter, the backboard is reinforced with foam padding to protect doors. Each $49.95 purchase comes with a 5″ diameter mini-basketball to get you started right out of the box. Best to get some heavy duty deodorant action going on there, considering how much sweat you’re going to have when going through a rather intense session. Read the rest of this entry »
Transcend Goggles give you your skiing stats

Skiing and snowboarding are sports that I would never succeed at. For one I lack balance and the most important detail is that I turn into an ice cube if it drops below 50 degrees (Fahrenheit) outside. Even despite that I’m not big on cold outdoor sports, these goggles are still cool. They give you all sorts of statistics as you’re sliding down the mountainside.
Folding bike made to hold a briefcase
There was a time when I rode a bike to work every day, but I worked in a factory and not as an executive. If I was one of those guys that sat in an office and worked behind a desk, I would gladly ride this particular bike.
IPong Table Tennis Trainer

Table tennis can be a tricky thing to practice when you don’t have any help. Thankfully there is the IPong for those of you that don’t have anyone to help you out with those practice sessions. It’s a very funny looking device, but it’ll send out as many little yellow balls as you need to keep your ping pong paddle moving.
Red Bull’s Extreme Promotion includes a 21-foot Eyeball
I thought you might want to see this interesting use of projection technology, even if you don’t like Red Bull.
Red Bull may have sponsored this stunt for extreme snowboarders and skiers, but the projection was designed by a Melbourne interactive group ENESS. You can watch the video of it after the jump, and see the nifty projections on the ramp as well as the 21-foot inflatable sphere in the middle.
Sunpentown Giddyup Core Exerciser

Those core muscles are important to keep tight, but they can be tricky to keep in shape. Thankfully there are workout machines that only require you to sit there and enjoy the ride. No more do you actually have to work at your body, just sit on a machine and let it do the work for you. Now if only your diet could be decied by some electronic device and keep you from messing things up when you get a little bit of a sweet tooth.
Electric Walker from Alinco talks you through running

The newer treadmills have really handy programs and screens. They help you to go faster and slower when needed as well as add some inclines to the mix. It’s a pretty standard feature, but this Electric Walker 3010 from Alinco gives some extra features to help you really get a whole lot out of your workout.
Power Laces, as seen in Back to the Future II
I think we all know that Back to the Future II has inspired much technology that is yet to become real by the year 2015. That was the year that Marty and Doc traveled to at the beginning of the film, for those that don’t remember it.
Finis Swimsense watch tells you about your swimming
This is the Finis Swimsense wrist-worn performance monitor, and it is made for swimmers.
It has some sort of internal motion sensors, and I cannot believe how accurate they area.
Coaching Exercise Watch

Not everyone is born the committed athlete, some of us need a push or two to really get going on our workout program. For me it usually needs to be a really hard shove to get me going. After you are finally getting into it you want to make sure that you’re actually getting something out of it. This watch will let you know when you need to push yourself a little harder.
Running barefoot is the new trend?
These are some interesting shoes/socks that you might have seen before.
They look a lot like aqua-socks, except they have room for the toes in their design. Apparently, “running without shoes can strengthen your feet, ankles, and lower legs and improve balance”. Now we know why Frodo and Sam never wore any shoes.
Weed Whacking Golf Driver for the noncommittal golfer

Let’s face it, not all golfers are the serious types. Some of them are just out for a day of goofing around with good friends. Now this Weed Whacking Golf Driver might be appalling to slip into a serious game of golf (if you could even succeed at it), but for the relaxed game your buddies might even start requesting to borrow it. After all, a little beer and a round of golf calls for a couple of short cuts throughout the game.
Schwinn Wireless Bike Computer

The great thing about most stationary bikes is that you get to see how fast you’re going and the actual distance you’d be going if you were in a real bike. Unfortunately no matter how hard you pedal a stationary bike, you’ll still be indoors. Thankfully there is this Schwinn bike computer that lets you have the same information as a stationary bike, except that you still get to be outdoors while you’re exercising.
Ripxx exercise GPS adds Mac OS support to its other EXTREME! qualities
The ElliptiGO combines running and biking
This is the ElliptiGO, a bike that combines running and cycling, designed for low-impact but high-output workouts.
It was created by a former cyclist and Ironman triathlete who suffered hip and knee injuries. The ElliptiGO is designed to help runners avoid “beating up their bodies through repeated impact” as well as “position riders ‘out of the saddle’ and using their weight to generate torque with every stride”.
DIY Internet Chess Table makes online matches suddenly awesome (video)
Computerized chess has been around for at least a few centuries now (okay, so maybe “score” is more accurate), but if you thought an IBM supercomputer dominating one of the planet’s brightest humans was gnarly, have a gander at this. One determined modder has whipped up what may very well be the most impressive way to engage in online chess ever, as the DIY Internet Chess Table turns an on-screen opponent into an on-table opponent. Put simply (or as simply as possible), the multitouch table uses a projector to beam a chessboard onto an opaque surface, and moves are captured via webcam and sent back to an internet server. The human’s moves are recognized and countered, and then that same human is told where to move the computer’s piece via on-screen arrows. Trust us — it’s worth your while to hop on past the break and mash play for a video demonstration.
