News about Gaming Gadgets:
Digital Storm ODE gaming system

Gamers can be a fussy lot, as they tend to look outwards first if they are on a losing streak. Could it be the mouse? Perhaps the keyboard isn’t quite right, or the standard, age-old excuse of “My computer’s too slow to keep up with the action”. Well, Digital Storm wants to make sure that you no longer have any more excuses the next time you lose, at least not from the processing point of view with their first pre-built gaming system known as ODE.
NZXT rocks on with Avatar S gaming mouse
![]()
Are you a serious gamer who uses nothing but the very best hardware available in order to further cement your dominance at the top of the gaming food chain? Well, surely you know that even gaming equipment will not remain at the top of its game forever, and an upgrade from time to time would serve you well (although your bank account might beg to differ). NZXT might be next on your list if you are looking out for a gaming mouse, as they have just announced the Avatar S.
Fling adds a new dimension to gaming on the iPad

One thing that the iPad is used for by many people apart from being a relatively hassle-free device used for surfing the Internet would be casual gaming. Many hit titles on the iPhone has already been ported over to Apple’s best selling tablet series, where the mechanics of the game remain the same – you will make use of your fingers to manipulate icons or characters on the screen to complete the game’s objective.
Sony Online Entertainment restores game services

For folks who have managed to quit online gaming cold turkey over the past three weeks simply because Sony’s PlayStation Network (PSN) was hacked and had its information compromised (that included credit card details, which Sony assures us were taken from an obsolete database but would we know any better?), here is some news. You might have found a different hobby to keep yourself occupied, or perhaps you might have kept the faith and waited with bated breath for the day where PSN will be restored (to full health, in video game jargon).
Augmented Reality Tattoos work well with the Nintendo 3DS
About one year ago, I did an article about augmented reality tattoos. It was a Beunos Aries-based software producer who had the AR marker on their flesh, thanks to a company known as ThinkAnApp.
Origin PC offers overclocked processors in EON17-S gaming laptop

Gamers are an extremely discerning lot, and some of them can be more picky than the rest. It doesn’t matter if their gaming skills aren’t exactly up to par with the rest of your clan mates, but as long as you have the best hardware on the market, then that alone is enough for bragging rights. This has led to hardware companies churning out some rather souped up machines that tend to force you to part with your hard earned cash, but it won’t do nuts to improve your gaming skills.
Calibur11 Vault case system
When it comes to the world of video games, there are those who do not really bother with the kind of systems that they have – as in, the case can come in any color, it does not matter as long as it can play their latest and favorite titles. As for the rest of the folks out there, they might prefer something which is more solid – helping them stand out from the rest of the crowd especially when it comes to video game parties as you tote your console over to your friend’s place.
Wii Successor is coming, Nintendo to have it on display at E3 2011
I guess we all knew that it was coming, but Nintendo has officially announced the successor to the Wii is on its way.
This new console is not planned to hit the market until 2012, possibly in the Spring. Apparently, Microsoft and Sony are not planning to unveil their new successors until 2014, so that gives some time for Nintendo to raise the bar as far as console gaming is concerned.
PlayStation Network remains down
If you’re an avid gamer, than chances are pretty good that you do own at least one of the three modern day consoles in your living room – be it a Sony PS3, a Microsoft Xbox 360 or a Nintendo Wii. For those who fall under the PS3 category, you would most probably know by now that the PlayStation Network has been down for over 20 hours already, leaving millions of gamers “in the dark” gaming-wise as they are unable to play online where their favorite games are concerned.
Razer Hydra gaming-grade motion sensing controller

When Razer called their Hydra a “gaming-grade motion sensing controller”, it left us wondering – isn’t the Wiimote the first gaming grade motion sensing controller? Of course, upon reading the fine print (and being more careful with our eyes), we realized that the Razer Hydra is slightly different from other gaming-grade motion sensing controllers because it is powered by Sixense and has been specially built to draw you deeper into your library of PC games.
Alienware unveils M18x gaming machine

Dell, when they bought over the Alienware brand some years back, had many people wondering whether this is going to be the start of the brand going downhill since Dell doesn’t really know much about dedicated gaming notebooks as their lineup had been more of the casual user types. Well, we’re rather pleased to say that Dell has done a pretty good job thus far, leaving Alienware intact in terms of branding without really interfering on what’s going on, so most users would not really be able to tell the difference in the newer Alienware offerings.
Novint Xio takes gaming to a whole new level
This is one of those postings where you should just hit the jump to watch the video, as it could revolutionize everything you know about gaming.
What you are seeing in the video is the application of the Xio from Novint. You may have heard of Novint before as they created this Falcon controller that is motion-sensitive, and great for First Person Shooter (FPS) games. The Xio is a controller that fits about the arm and designed to “be able to feel what is in the game”.

MSI has just announced that they will be introducing a couple of mainstream notebooks, namely the CX640 and CR640 models that will arrive at the doorsteps of online retailers in North America. These two will come in the 15.6” form factor, where you will find specifications starting from the Intel Core i3-2310M Processor with the NVIDIA GeForce GT 520M with Optimus technology powering the CX640′s innards, although there is always the option to go for something of lesser power – Intel’s HD 3000 Graphics chipset instead in the CR640.
Mionix Zibal 60 gaming keyboard

Gamers are an extremely picky lot, that’s for sure. After all, it is human nature to look around us for someone or something to blame before we finally concede our position and say, “Yes, I do have a part to play in the botched event.” Of course, in such a capitalistic society, that has played well in favor of gaming hardware manufacturers since they are able sell more and more kinds of different hardware, even coming up with “Special editions” or particular models to tie in with a game release.
The World’s Biggest Pac-Man is no lie
What you are seeing here is the World’s Biggest Pac-Man, and it is a web site where you can play Pac-Man, constantly.
Would someone manufacture the Tron Light Cycle Board Game
What you see in the photo is a Tron Light Cycle board game, but it is not for sale.
It is a DIY project from Brett King. Apparently, his kids loved the movie Tron Legacy so much, and he loves his kids so much, that he made this for them. Hopefully, you understood that, and you should check out a video of it after the jump.

Tempest Freerunning Academy brings video game fantasies to life
I think we all know that video game characters can do some pretty amazing things. Whether it be Lara Croft or Mario, we all would like to wall-jump or do things that would otherwise be impossible without proper training.

I have my iPod loaded with tons of apps and fun games and I always thought to myself, I wish I knew how to write code, then I could come up with something cool and entertaining myself, in fact, I thought, maybe someday I’ll take a class and actually learn to create one of those games. Well now I don’t have to…
Sega MegaDrive Console
Roll back the years with the Sega MegaDrive Console from Firebox – makes you wonder what you’re doing with a 16-bit console when today’s gaming devices are even able to offer 3D – and on the road, to boot? Well, sometimes classics just don’t die, and neither do they fade away. Take the Dreamcast (another Sega product) for example, now that’s a console that died way before its time, and yet had independent developers continue churning out games for it.

Now, we do know that the iPhone has somewhat turned into a pretty decent gaming platform, and has had its fair share of hits along the way. When it comes to racing games, however, the experience of tilting your phone either way to steer your car isn’t a really fun experience, so here is a peripheral that might just help you out.
Cyber Snipa announces Sonar 5.1 Championship Headset

It seems as though gamers have a field day when it comes to choosing the right accessory for their gaming endeavors and adventures – just take a look at Cyber Snipa, a company that isn’t really on the same level as Razer where popularity of its products and brand name recognition are concerned, but at least they try to roll out an above average piece of hardware.

Hardcore gamers tend to take the outcome of their digital battles seriously, and most of them will have a favorite kind of gaming hardware to complement their skills. While Razer is an extremely popular name when it comes to gaming devices, how many people have Gigabyte off the top of their heads? Most of us would think of this to be a motherboard manufacturer first and foremost, but they have rolled out the Gigabyte Aivia M8600 Wireless Macro Gaming Mouse this time around to compete in such a niche market.
Green Goose is like playing Second Life, the first time
One of the reasons why people enjoy playing video games is because actions are often met with immediate rewards. Even if that reward is a useless virtual trophy or a few more points, it seems like more than what life gives us at times.
Add smells to your list of video game peripherals
We live in an age where video games are getting more an more interactive. The Nintendo Wiimote, the PS3 Move, and the XBox 360 Kinect have taught us to get off of the couch, but besides 3D, how can gamers get more into their game?

Rude Gameware brings Fierce Laser Mouse V2 to the US at last

We talked about the Fierce Laser Mouse V2 from Rude Gameware late last month, and it seems that the release of this little bugger has taken a stumble since it was held up by US Customs, who were rather reluctant to let this peripheral arrive in the country just in case if shifts the playing field for online gamers. Of course, of “official” word was that “bad weather” had a major role in this delay, but we all know the truth, don’t we?

Skylanders Spyro’s Adventure offers a new way to play

I remember back in the day when I was still a young ‘un, games were more often than not moments where imagination was required. Imagine cops and robbers or cowboys vs Indians – those classic physical games involved plenty of running around and screaming, and we needed no pixelated adventure to spur us on or remain addicted.
JOYSTICK-IT, A Must Have iPad Arcade Accessory
Having just left the aisles of The New York Toy Fair, I am exhausted and amazed. There were many items that drew attention, some were educational, some were environmentally friendly and some were, well, just darn fun.
Tetris Link – From the Virtual World to Your Tabletop?
Having just left the crazy and chaotic word of the Toy Fair in NYC, I am still reeling from the experience. Not to mention the cost of parking. I would have to say that it was not the high tech world I envisioned, although there were some exceptions, the trend seems to lean toward, shall we say, more grounded play?
Activision pulls the plug on Guitar Hero
You know how certain franchises are just going on and on, and no one seems to want to end them?
After all, do we really need another Spider-man or X-men movie? All I see here is just a perpetuation of mediocrity. Fortunately, Activision had the gusto to say “enough is enough” to Guitar Hero.
iCam Game Console System
They say that learning works best when you’re playing, which is why animals tend to play a whole lot when they’re young – the same applies to us humans, but with some countries in the world being more rigid and placing extra emphasis on being naively obedient, then the element of play is removed, hence actually slowing down their mental development.
