News about blackberry:
Balance separates work and play on your BlackBerry
Research In Motion (RIM) knows that they have to do something to ensure they are still around in a few years’ time and avoid the path of irrelevance that Nokia is taking, and hence intends to go all out in maintaining their territory when it comes to the corporate smartphone market by making sure the BlackBerry is smart enough to segregate a user’s personal data from work-related emails as well as other applications sponsored by employers thanks to the Balance software. This software will more or less give you more from a single phone – making you feel as though you were using two phones in one, and RIM intends that this move will help combat the erosion of its market share in the corporate segment to other competitors such as Android-powered and iOS devices. Balance is currently undergoing testing and should hit North America within a couple of months’ time. In addition, Balance will arrive on the PlayBook tablet to make it one of the more exciting software releases for mobile devices these coming months.
BlackBerry Style 9670 unveiled

When one thinks of BlackBerrys, one would most probably think of a rather fat candybar form factor with the famous keyboard which is a whole lot easier to hold and type, but it is nice to see Research in Motion (RIM) roll out a different form factor once in a while. The latest model from RIM would be the BlackBerry Style 9670, which is a clamshell smartphone that features a full QWERTY BlackBerry keyboard, while running on the latest BlackBerry 6 operating system alongside a wide range of advanced communications and multimedia capabilities. You still have slightly more than 10 days to save up for it, since Sprint will be offering the BlackBerry Style 9670 on October 31st.

BlackBerry Torch 9800 to be Released on Vodafone and Orange UK
Since the announcement of the BlackBerry Torch 9800, it would appear that everyone has been trying to find out who will be official carriers of the latest BlackBerry smartphone.
BlackBerry 6 announced

What better way to introduce a new smartphone in the form of the BlackBerry Torch than to accompany it with a spanking new operating system as well? That’s what we’re talking about today with the BlackBerry 6 heading your way from Research in Motion. Boasting a redesigned interface which seamlessly works with a touch screen and trackpad, it will also throw in expanded messaging capabilities that simplify managing social media and RSS feeds. Apart from that, you will find your BlackBerry 6 powered device to double up as an advanced multimedia device as well, touted to rival the best in the industry. Since search is such a big thing these days, RIM also threw in a convenient new Universal Search tool, alongside a new and efficient WebKit-based browser which ensures your favorite web pages are rendered in a quick and beautiful manner.
BlackBerry 9800 can hold a Torch to the iPhone
Last week, I received a call from Research In Motion (RIM), and they asked whether or not I would be in New York on August 3rd.
Clearly, they have no idea that I live in Washington State, and that I make it to New York like I make it to the UK. When I asked the RIM PR person what is going on, they said that they couldn’t tell me.
BlackBerry Torch 9800 Gets Official Launch Date
Research in Motion has joined hands with AT&T for launching its new smartphone Torch 9800. The phone, with dual input mode, will be available from August 12 at the price point of $200. AT&T has offered the prospective customers to sign up for a notification, which will intimate them about the availability of the new objet d’sire. RIM shows off BlackBerry 6 multimedia experience, in pictures
While there’s still no (official) word on when we’ll get any BlackBerry OS 6 hardware, much less that 9800 Bold, RIM has seen fit to provide us another glimpse at the software front. This time round we’re looking at multimedia features, including the photo gallery, a brand-new podcasts app and YouTube, alongside extra camera controls (including a face detection mode) and roundabout confirmation that at least some new BlackBerries will support pinch-to-zoom. Oddly enough, there’s no video showing off the new multimedia functionality, just a set of stills, but we suppose RIM realizes it’s all been done before and Crackberry addicts will take whatever they can get. BlackBerry Curve 9300 spotted in the wild again, gets examined in-depth
We’ve already seen what’s purported to be the BlackBerry Curve 9300 out in the wild a few times, but Vietnamese site Mainguyen has now gotten its hands on a unit as well, and given us our most detailed look at the phone yet. That includes a better look at the slightly higher-end elements more reminiscent of the now-discontinued Curve 8900 than the Curve 8500 series it’s apparently replacing, and confirmation of at least a few specs (including a 3.2-megapixel camera). Head on past the break for a video, and hit up the source link below

Blackberry Storm 3 Specs and Possible Release Date Leaked
We all know that the Blackberry Storm is rumoured to be launched in time for the holiday season, however very little has been said about the possible features we expect the new Blackberry smartphone will include.
RIM finally catches up to the competition with non-GPS-based BlackBerry ‘Locate Service’
It’s hardly the first company to implement the technology in a smartphone, but it looks like RIM finally has an answer for folks not satisfied with the GPS capabilities of their BlackBerry. It’s now announced the simply-named ‘Locate Service’ for developers, which relies on cell tower triangulation to to either augment the phone’s built-in GPS, or completely replace it when a GPS signal isn’t available. According to RIM, the service also includes a set of components that “integrate seamlessly” with the BlackBerry Maps and Contacts applications and, of course, the GPS capabilities of the device. There’s still no word on any apps that actually take advantage of the new service though, but it is now at the disposal of developers, so we’re guessing we’ll see some soon enough. BlackBerry Storm 3 detailed in training slide: same look, more RAM?
For those of you hoping that RIM could pull off a handset capable of challenging the incredibly slim and futuristic tree-borne Android handsets in the touchphone hardware arena, you’ll have to dream past the Storm 3. From the looks of it, we’ll be getting a fairly minor “refresh” of the Storm 2, according to our tipster, with upgrades more designed to accommodate BlackBerry 6 than anything. As seen on the the slide, the phone will double the Storm 2′s RAM with 512MB, the camera will be bumped up to 5 megapixels, and the WiFi is being shifted to 802.11n — a spec RIM is already rocking on the Pearl 3G, so not unprecedented. Outside of BlackBerry 6 and that (supposedly) blazing new WebKit browser, we’re probably most enthused about the “coming soon” 3G mobile hotspot functionality, something that’s made our Android handsets invaluable as of late. We were already hearing the Storm 3 and Curve 3 (another refresh, says our tipster) were holiday possibles for Verizon, and the bottom of this slide points to an “___ember” month. Droid 2 Released Date Expected for August with Blackberry Storm 3 and Curve 3 Also in the Pipeline
It has been rumoured that Droid X’s QWERTY cousin the Droid 2 is expected to be released in August on Verizon.
However, this has certainly comes as no surprise especially as there are reports that Motorola’s popular phone of last year, the Droid is expected to be killed off due to the release of the recent Droid X and now the rumoured launch of the Droid 2.
Verizon leaks another Droid 2, getting BlackBerry Storm 3, Curve 3, 10.1-inch tablet later this year?
Now that the Droid 2 has officially reached “leaking like a sieve” status, we thought we’d toss you another couple shots of the Droid X’s QWERTY-equipped cousin, which we’re being told is locked for an August release on Verizon. If you’re more of the BlackBerry type, though, we’ve got some news for you, too: our source is telling us that both a Curve 3 and Storm 3 are “possible” for the holidays this year. If we had to guess, the Curve 3 is likely a variant of this 9300 we’ve been seeing lately, whereas the Storm 3 could be a version of the 9800 slider or an entirely new keyboardless slate. There’s also a 10.1-inch tablet on the docket; the carrier has already confirmed that Android tablets are in the pipeline, but this could also be a version of the rumored BlackBerry beast. More on this noise as soon as we get it; in the meantime, follow the break for another shot of that Droid 2, won’t you?
RIM co-CEOs pull no punches responding to Apple’s antenna statements
Thought Nokia’s statement was strongly worded? That was nothing compared to the little tirade put together by RIM co-CEOs Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie — a pair of dudes known for having some of the bigger mouths (and bigger egos) in the wireless industry — in direct response to Apple’s Friday press conference on antenna issues. Of course, unlike Nokia, Apple made it personal for RIM because it used the Bold 9700 as a demonstration device in its attempt to prove that signal loss was a problem for phones and manufacturers from all walks of life, but Mike and Jim are having none of it. Phrases like “self-made debacle” and “deliberate attempts to distort the public’s understanding” should give you an idea of the statement’s overall flavor, but basically, they’re saying that RIM puts a lot of time, money, and energy into avoiding dropped call issues and that you don’t need a case to use any of their phones. Snap!
Verizon DROID, DEVOUR and Tour 9630 all axed?
A Verizon leak has tipped various smartphones as reaching end-of-life status, including the Motorola DROID and its less-endearing sibling the Motorola DEVOUR. Droid Forums received a screenshot from an internal Verizon message, tipping the two Android handsets as expected to see “limited or no remaining shipments from the vendor”, together with the Nokia 7705 Twist and the BlackBerry Tour 9630.
BlackBerry 9800 slider replacement parts tip imminent debut
RIM are yet to officially confirm the BlackBerry 9800 slider, despite us having seen it in various leaked photoshoots and videos, but already you can pick up replacement parts for the smartphone. CIO spotted that retailer Truesupplier is currently offering an OEM replacement keyboard for the 9800 slider.
Apple Dominates the US Smartphone Market: How Long Will They Stay on Top?
A recent survey of 4,028 US consumers by ChangeWave has created some interesting statistics to give us an insight into the smartphone market. Unsurprisingly the figures back up the idea that we have become smartphone mad with 16% of respondents saying that they’ll be buying a smartphone within the next 90 days; the biggest increase in the survey’s history.
BlackBerry Protect protects (you guessed it) your BlackBerry
You might expect a product with as much enterprise street cred as BlackBerry to offer the best lineup of options for dealing with a lost or stolen phone, but not quite — devices in a controlled BES environment can be wiped from afar, but for non-enterprise consumers, the options are a little more limited. That’s where RIM’s new BlackBerry Protect software comes into play, combining a host of services into one product; on top of being able to remotely message, lock, and wipe a misplaced phone, you can locate it on a map and take regularly-scheduled wireless backups that make replacing the handset (if it comes to that) as painless as possible. It’s going into an invite-only beta period later this week, after which it’ll move to a wider-scale public beta “later this year” at no charge. Considering that MobileMe’s similarly-styled features do less than this for $100 annually, the word “free” has an especially sweet ring to it, doesn’t it? Read the rest of this entry »
BlackBerry 6 teased again in new official video
There have been rumors that the first volley of BlackBerry 6-powered devices could launch as early as last month — but seeing how we’re still empty-handed, we may as well enjoy more high production value video pimping the biggest new features, right? RIM has published another official YouTube spot on BlackBerry 6 today showing off goodies likes aggregated social network integration, universal search, and — of course — the all-new WebKit-based browser coming out of last year’s purchase of Torch Mobile. Interestingly, this latest video continues RIM’s trend of showing 6 running only on full touchscreen phones; we can’t fathom that they’d abandon the form factor that made them famous, of course, but it’s becoming more and more obvious by the day that we’re going to see this launch on the rumored 9800 or something very similar to it. Follow the break for the full video. Read the rest of this entry »
BlackBerry OS 6 gets second video demo: Social Feeds, WebKit browser, more
RIM has pushed out another video teaser, following up their initial BlackBerry OS 6 sneak-peak with a second showing – among other things – the new browser and social feeds app. Set to debut later in 2010, the new BB OS can pull together Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and BlackBerry Messenger updates into a single stream, and allow you to post to one or more of them simultaneously.
BlackBerry Tablet Due by The End of The Year?

BlackBerry tablet rumors resurface: video calling & late 2010 launch tipped
RIM’s rumored BlackBerry tablet – aka the “BlackTab” or “BlackPad” – is once again doing the rounds, with Rodman & Renshaw analyst Ashok Kumar pushing out a new report regarding the so-called companion slate. Details are in short supply and most are recycled from Kumar’s early May report; he’s expecting a 7-inch screen, Marvell processor and 3G baseband, with “a marginal point of differentiation being the front- and back-facing cameras for videoconferencing.”

HTC, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Blackberry & Samsung Phone Release Dates for 2nd Half of 2010
So far, 2010 had been a good year for the new product launches and according to tech website Omio, the latter half is also expected to be equally exciting. BlackBerry 9670, 9800 and 9300 get video fondle
It’s BlackBerry leak time again, and today it’s a trio of new RIM devices that have made their way in video form to Salomondrin. His anonymous tipster has sent hands-on overviews of the BlackBerry 9670 Clamshell, BlackBerry 9800 Slider and the BlackBerry 9300 (which basically adds 3G to the 8520).
Twitter for BlackBerry shakes the beta label
Though RIM’s official Twitter client for BlackBerry devices has been slinking around in public beta form for a solid three months now, we understand — not everyone is okay using software that’s rough around the edges. And if anything, that probably applies more to BlackBerry users, many of whom are using their devices to do… you know, really important work-related things. On that note, you might be excited to learn that the company’s official Twitter client has gone gold, meaning it’s theoretically less likely to crash than any version that’s come before it, which means you can go about your high-productivity business without fear that your secret addiction to social networking will bring your Bold 9700 crashing down in a spectacular ball of flame and molten circuitry. Not to say the beta was prone to do that, of course, but you can be extra sure of it now. If you’re interested, looks like you should be able to find it in App World right away. HTC Gold with Windows Phone 7 in November, and more from a rumored UK roadmap leak
O, to see what Omio sees. The outlet has obtained what it claims to be “a huge UK mobile phone release schedule for the rest of the year… [from] all the manufacturers” (emphasis its own). So, from where would such an all-encompassing roadmap hail? We don’t know, nor can we corroborate any of this, but the details are numerous so let’s go through it — albeit with cautious optimism and a few grains of salt. The biggest phone we can see of this baker’s dozen of a lineup is the HTC Gold (sound familiar?), due in November and loaded with Microsoft’s mobile OS newcomer Windows Phone 7. Unfortunately, that’s all the information provided, but it’s certainly enough to entice us. Also in November, we’ve got Samsung i8700 and Nokia E7 — the latter being possibly a N8-esque QWERTY slider with AMOLED display and Symbian^3, and the former being a mystery (although Omio takes a gander that its aquatic Greek mythology might suggest a Bada-powered existence).
