News about Apple News:
The Invisible iPhone prototype
Here’s some interesting App developed by Patrick Baudisch and his team of researchers at the Hasso-Lattner Institute.
As you can see from the video, they have figured out a way to make the iPhone invisible. Actually, they just figured out a way for the user to put the interface on a hand thanks to “an Xbox-like camera”. Special software is able to determine where the fingers are on the palm, and transmit the commands via WiFi radio.
RecognizeMe relies on facial recognition to unlock an iPhone
A few days ago, we reported on the Hoyos Eyelock USB Iris Scanner that allows the user to enter their laptop or desktop device via eye-scan. All it takes is just connecting it via USB, but what if you could get similar security on your mobile phone?
Wireless Mobile Storage For your iPad – GoFlex® Satellite

One of the restrictions of the Pad (and iPhone) is it’s lack of expandability with it annoyingly having no USB or memory card ports, thus limiting you to the space you originally purchased. Seagate aim to fill this gap with the GoFlex Mobile Wireless Storage device, effectively a portable hard drive that you connect to over Wi-Fi.
Hands on with the Slim Folio Stand for the iPad 2
The last time we covered a hands-on review with a product from Belkin, it was the Conserve Valet Energy-Saving USB Charging Station. The company sent me the Slim Folio stand for the iPad 2 in advance, and it is pretty good.
The EyeReader app on your iPhone – Lets you Read the Small Print
First, let me tell you that I have in fact reached an age where I require very subtle vision correction, Okay, I have reached an age where I can’t see the television 6 feet in front of me without my glasses on, let’s face it, being “almost 30” for the 10th time isn’t all its cracked up to be, and when I find myself without my cool librarian glasses, I’m as blind as a bat.
Render lets you do magic tricks on an iPhone
Stage magic is one of those professions where it is good to know a lot about technology. How else you can you fool an audience?
Apparently, a lot of magicians get their tricks from another source, and they don’t make up all their own tricks. For example, Sean Scott is a professional magician who designs and sells illusions to other magicians. One of the tricks that he is selling is Render, which is made for the iPhone.
Hasbro My3DNow comes to the iPhone
If you grew up in the seventies, you might remember a toy known as a Viewmaster.
If you don’t remember it, it sort of looked like this My3DNow that you see here, except instead of sticking an iPhone in front of the binocular viewer, you stuck this circular reel, and you could see still images in 3D.
The YUBE – iPhone Exercise App Really Takes You Away
The YUBE is an augmented reality application for stationary exercise, you’ve seen it before, someone pedaling away on a stationary bike and watching the world seemingly pass by on a TV screen. It uses an iPhone or iPod Touch to synchronize the user’s body motion to travel through an actual video, so you can travel the world without ever leaving the gym.
MacBook Air lock is now available

How many of you spend plenty of time at cafes and public places, sippin’ on a latte while surfing the Internet for the latest news thanks to a Wi-Fi hotspot? Of course, if you’re out with a group of friends, it is easy to just head off to the loo without worrying that someone will nick away your laptop – but if you happen to fly solo, the possibility is very real, especially when you’re a tourist in an unfamiliar area.
PocketLoops Portable Music Creation Studio for iPhone and iPod Touch
While I was at ShowStoppers at CTIA Spring 2011, I saw this guy from Gear4. This is PocketLoops, a Portable Music Creation Studio designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
Hands on with the iPad Handstand
Some of you might remember when we reported on the iPad Strap. At the risk of sounding cliche, I would say that the Handstand for the iPad is the iPad Strap on crack.
We go literally hands-on with the iPad Strap
I realize that there are a lot of beautiful things to look at in this picture, but focus on the thing that is sticking to this handsome blogger’s hand.
ZAGG sportLEATHER availability announced
ZAGG, a name that has long been associated with quality mobile device accessories, has something special for the iPhone 4 this time around with their sportLEATHER case. Available via AT&T company owned retail stores nationwide, this case is made from genuine leather with sports equipment styling, where the patent-pending ZAGG sportLEATHER for Apple’s iPhone 4 is definitely an exciting and eye-catching way for one to protect one’s phone.
Apple’s “Places” – I know where you are, and I saw what you did.
Did you ever Google yourself and were amazed at the scary amount of information you could find? I mean, the days of an unlisted phone number keeping you hidden are gone like the buffalo. I was already concerned with what personal information could be found on the internet, and it just keeps getting more invasive. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all fantastic, amazing advances, and I love the idea of it all, but it seems to be, well, dangerous.
Today, it is officially iPad 2 day!
As you might have guessed, this is one of those stories that we have to report on, simply because we are a tech blog. I’m sure that most of you already know that Steve Jobs made the big announcement that the iPad 2 is on its way. Hit the jump to see what you haven’t heard.
Solar Powered iPhone? Yes Please
So, I take my cell phone with me no matter where I go. I consider it a luxury, but I also like to think that I would have it with me in the case of an emergency, like when my brand new car broke down this morning, and I was stuck on the side of the highway. Oh I had my phone alright, but the battery was dead, and the charger was in my other (and I guess, better) car.
Latest Technology News
Most of the most recent tech world buzz has been around mobile phones, following the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona we saw the new toys coming soon as well as the longer term road maps from manufacturers with the notable omission of Apple who use their own events to make major announcements. That`s not to say Apple hasn`t been making waves, the online community as well as publishers and media developers have been in uproar over Apple`s plans to charge a thirty percent royalty on all digital content sold through iTunes. Many see this move as destroying the market by reducing the margins beyond the point where they are profitable for publishers.
MoGo Talk XD2 pre-orders open for the iPhone 4
ID8-Mobile is a name that most of you would be familiar with when it comes to accessories for mobile connected devices, and the company has started to open up pre-orders for its MoGo Talk XD2 for the iPhone 4. Of course, anyone with an iPhone 4 who wants to go the hands-free route when driving (it is going to be more cost effective than paying for a ticket many times over, trust us) will definitely want to check out the clean design and high performance that comes with the new XD2.

Enter the iSkin ProTouch Classic Keyboard Protector specially meant for said notebook.
Apple breaks 1 million app download mark on Mac App Store
Mac App Store in just its first day. This is pretty amazing, considering there are just slightly more than a thousand free and paid apps to choose from, so it goes to show just what kind of strength of depth that Apple has with their customers and loyalists. According to Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO, “We’re amazed at the incredible response the Mac App Store is getting. Developers have done a great job bringing apps to the store and users are loving how easy and fun the Mac App Store is.” Apps in various categories such as Education, Games, Graphics & Design, Lifestyle, Productivity, and Utilities are available, alongside a user ratings and review system to help you make a more informed and educated decision before purchase. Have you tried out the Mac App Store yet, and do you have any comments on it?
Joby unveils two new iPad Accessories at CES 2011
Most of you are familiar with Joby, and they are most famous for their Gorillapod accessories. These are tripods with some very flexible feet for cameras, flashlights, and even the iPhone 4. At CES 2011 Unveiled last night, the company revealed that they have two new iPad related products.
Griffin Slap Nano Wristband
The latest iPod nano is definitely one of the smallest wonders of the world, according to diehard Apple fanboys. Well, we are wont to agree since something so small can actually carry so much stuff. It also goes without saying that the third party accessory market for the iPod nano is a growing (and lucrative) one, otherwise how can we see so many manufacturers throwing their lot into this area? One of the newer accessories to roll out would be the Griffin Slap Nano Wristband, where this slap style strap is actually a flexible ‘memory-metal’ wristband, specially designed to accommodate an iPod nano, allowing you to wear it like a wristwatch. All you need to do is whap the seemingly rigid silicone band on your arm, and see it fit your wrist perfectly, as though it had a life of its own. Start strutting this around like a peacock after you invest £14.99 in it. Read the rest of this entry »
How to unlock an iPhone with a ring
I’ve recently got a Motorola Droid X phone (which I will probably review later on this site), and I found that getting yourself a smartphone with a pure touchscreen interface can lead a user to all kinds of security issues.
Apple Patents 3D Projection – no glasses required
Okay, okay, I know what I’m dealing with here. There are huge fans of Apple, and then there are, well, everyone else. Honestly, I’m not a diehard fan either way, I find uses for both a Mac and a PC. I really love the iPad, but I’m no snob, show me something that does more stuff, and I’ll switch in a heartbeat. That being said, I am still excited about Apples jump onto the 3D bandwagon.

Griffin Technology and Iceberg Kids team up and make a Woogie
So what is a Woogie, you ask? It has nothing to do with Chewbacca. While we are on the subject of seventies science fiction, the Woogie is not some alien that attaches to your face.

Cobra iRadar – Cobra Marries the iPhone

I have always used a radar detector, not that I’m a big speeder or anything, it’s more that I am always late, and to be honest, usually in a bit of a hurry. I find that how much of a hurry I can allow myself to be in, weighs quite heavily on the reputation and reliability of the radar detector I have at the time.
Hands on with the Horn Stand
Today I received the Bone Collection iPhone Portable Amplifier Horn Stand in the mail. The Horn Stand is designed to increase the volume of your iPhone by 13 decibels without the use of batteries.
Hitachi unveils slim new G-Technology G-DRIVE
External or portable hard drives are pretty popular these days, especially for those who tend to do a whole lot of traveling (or tote around netbooks, since those devices are notorious for not having enough storage space for a decent computer user). Well, if you’re going to carry around another computer peripheral in your notebook or netbook bag, why not make sure it is as slim and light as possible?
Belkin unveils FlipBlade & Grip 360° + Stand

Belkin is a name that is more often than not synonymous with quality accessories for a variety of consumer electronics. The company isn’t going to rest on its laurels anytime soon though, with the FlipBlade & Grip 360° + Stand being announced most recently.
AT&T and Apple to deliver Apple iPad

So the iPad has already proven itself to be a success since it was released earlier this year, with many other hardware manufacturers around the world jumping in on the tablet craze as well. Well, it doesn’t hurt to see the iPad being made available elsewhere throughout the country which will surely play some role in making sure the iPad ends up with even higher sales figures in due time.
